Learn How to Measure Cannabinoids at Home!

Test Cannabis flower and extracts for THC and CBD using thin layer chromatography.

In this workshop you will learn the basics of chromatography and gain all of the knowledge and skills required to test Cannabis flowers and extracts for THC and CBD potency at home using thin layer chromatography.

The lead instructor for this course is molecular biologist, Dr. Anthony Smith, who will guide you through the basics of using the kit and maximizing your precision and accuracy.

Please note:  This workshop does not include the test kit. Please use the button above, or click here to purchase a test kit from TLC Lab Supply. Alternatively similar test kits may also be obtained from other vendors, however our instructor specifically used a thin layer chromatography kit from TLC Lab Supply when teaching this course.

This workshop does not include Cannabis samples. If you live in a state where medical or adult-use Cannabis is still prohibited, we recommend obtaining hemp flower or extracts to use with the kit.


Lead Instructor

Certified Instructor Anthony Smith PhD

Anthony Smith received his PhD in Molecular & Cellular Biology from Oregon State University at the Linus Pauling Institute where he specialized in biochemistry, metabolism and nutrition. Currently Dr. Smith teaches about phytochemistry, pharmacology, and analytical chemistry at John Patrick University. Prior to focusing on teaching, Dr. Smith worked in natural products and biomedical research while serving as a leading international authority on aging, lipoic acid and vascular disease. He also founded Kenevir Research, a Cannabis biotechnology and analytical testing company that was later acquired, and has spent much of the past decade operating laboratories and developing analytical methods designed to investigate the potency and purity of Cannabis and cannabinoid infused products . All in all Dr. Smith brings over 15 years of natural product research, quality assurance, product development, GMP manufacturing, FDA & regulatory experience and analytical chemistry expertise to our team.
